My favourite thing about making music is collaborating. So a few years ago I decided to make an album where I’d write and record each track with a different person. The only rule was that we had to co-write and co-record the entire song – no one else could play on the track.

It took a while to bring it all together, but here it is: Be My Guest. Each song came together in a different way, from jointly scribbled lyrics and singing together in a bedroom to emailing separate parts back and forth across continents.

Thanks to the fourteen people that took part – you’re all excellent, and my favourite track from the album changes daily.

Any money we make from Be My Guest will be split between two charities: Booth Centre, Manchester, which supports people coping with homelessness in Manchester; and Black Lives Matter UK, a coalition of black activists and organisers across the UK.
